Top Priorities

Our police and fire departments do a tremendous job of serving our community. Staffing, equipment, and facilities are important to ensure our public safety heroes are there when needed most. Police and Fire expenditures equal out to approximately 55% of the general fund budget and the need for more police officers and fire fighters is a priority.

The town hired its first fire department employee in December 2020 when Chief Windrow was tasked with building a combination paid and volunteer department. In the past three years, the fire department has increased staff, acquired needed equipment, and built a fire station.

The Nolensville Police Department (NPD) has added additional officers and detectives and taken the first steps for a new freestanding police station – a key step in meeting the department’s long-term needs. Staffing and facilities will continue to be a challenge to balance with available resources.

Improving the quality of our roads and attacking traffic issues is a major concern in Nolensville. During my time serving on the BOC as both Commissioner and Mayor, I have and will continue to support and work closely with Town staff designing and implementing road improvements.

What's in process for roadways?

  • Sunset Road Phase III
  • Rocky Fork Road Improvements
  • Nolensville Complete Street Project
  • Right turn lane from Nolensville Road onto Sunset Road - currently being constructed.

Road projects take a significant amount of time. The planning, design, and right of way acquisition alone take multiple years to get a project to shovel ready status. It is imperative that we continue to move these projects to completion as quickly as possible and continue to plan and implement other improvements throughout Town.

The Town was recently awarded a $1.2 million Local Parks and Recreation Grant for facilities on the 20-acre parcel owned by the Town on Sunset Road. This grant will allow the town to build a tennis court, basketball goal, walking trail, restroom facility, and multi-purpose field to serve the community. Parks & Recreation is a component of keeping Nolensville the best place to live, work, and play. Working together with Williamson County Parks & Recreation and pursuing grant funding is a priority.
